What laws govern the landlord tenant relationship?

Georgia law does not regulate the details of the landlord-tenant relationship but does set forth the general rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants. The Georgia Legislature passes laws which govern the rental of residential rental property in this state. These laws are contained in the Official Code of Georgia, Title 44, Chapter 7. The Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals decide cases which clarify how laws apply.
