How do you get the process started to purchase your first home? What’s needed as far as credit score, income, employment, etc?

Sorry for the delayed response to your question. If you have not purchased a home. I recommend you go to your local bank, credit union or mortgage broker to get pre-approved. Which is different than pre-qualify. Pre-approved, means you will need to produce several documents and the lender is willing to fund the loan. Pre-qualify means you might qualify, if they ran your credit and reviewed over documents for a particular amount. Then I would seek an experienced agents, who can assist you with locating your first home. Make sure, she is familiar with first time homeowner’s program, local grants and down payment assistance program. Many details can be missed throughout this process and you need someone who can navigate the waters for you.
